I bought this for using at work to have a healthier
alternative to the cafeteria. It does the job and makes
the right amount of steamed vegetables for a single serving.
I'd estimate it takes at least about 1 1/2 cups raw veggies by
volume if not a little more. I followed the directions and
put inside the measured amount of recommended water, but now
I just turn on the faucet and put in what looks about the same
as the measured amount. I also reduce the power on the microwave to a medium high and follow the recommended minutes for the different veggies. I wrote on the bottom with a permanent ink pen the recommended times and water amount as a reminder for myself. After microwaving the directions say to keep the steamer closed for a few minutes. So far I've steamed broccoli/cauliflower/carrots and green beans in it with perfect results. Made in China

The convenient steamer/drainer insert is perfect for lifting out seafood when cooked. Includes metal faucet for draining broth. This Granite Ware 3 pc 19 quart crab and crawfish cooker stock pot is constructed of porcelain on carbon steel. The result is a pot that heats rapidly, is easy to clean and has an inert glass surface so there are no PFOA's or other chemicals to alter food's taste, color or healthfulness. Porcelain enamel is the result of fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 degrees Celsius. The powder melts and flows and hardens to a durable vitreous coating on a carbon steel core. It creates a smooth, hard finish that won’t burn and resists staining. It’s also non -porous so it won’t trap odors or food particles and provides a low coefficient of friction – meaning that it cleans up easily and, it is corrosion and chemically resistant so it will last a long time. When fired, the vessel is placed on pins so the bottom and sides are hardened during the firing process into one smooth laminated glass surface. You may notice slight pin indentations where the glass has flowed around the pin that supports the base during firing. I ordered this steamer for my husband and he ABSOLUTELY loves it! In fact, we had a huge clam bake over the weekend and we had all sorts of goodies in there. Clams, crab legs, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and blue crab clusters.....enough to feed 8 people!!!! I suggest using an outside burner if you don't want your entire house to smell like fishy Old Bay seasoning, though. Great product for the price.

I love this little steamer. Very well constructed and is easy to wipe clean. It is small but works great if cooking for 1-2 people. I use it almost everyday to steam vegetables! I originally purchased an electronic plastic steamer, but sent it back and purchased this instead (I feel so much more safer cooking foods in stainless steel cookware than heating it in a plastic container). One of the best pieces of cookware I ever purchased. Great for quickly cooking up corn on the cobb, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, etc.

For most of my life, I had done all of the juicing/jellymaking the old fashioned way. Then, believe it or not, my mother purchased a steam juicer and raved about its efficiency. I had never even dreamed of such a thing! Amazon had this one listed on sale, and already considerably lower priced than its closest competitors, so I thought I would get one for myself. (About a decade ago, my mother's cost just over 0.) I've had it for months, as it was still winter when it arrived, but now I'm making jellies and juices and syrups...and this thing is a wonderful piece of equipment to add to your arsenal for canning. Minimal dilution by water, no foaminess induced by a blender, no pressing and wringing and aggravation as it runs through food mill and colander, then through jelly bags.

I took it to a friend's house where we were picking & processing mulberries and wild blackberries. In just a few hours, well over ten gallons of berries were processed into about three gallons of pure intense juice. She was amazed to see it come streaming out of the tube, like some sci fi cow giving mulberry milk! (she actually called a number of friends to report to them how this amazing steam juicer worked--it was worth every penny AND the sweaty labor of picking the fruit just to hear her!)

This particular juicer is not heavy duty stainless steel. Perhaps under truly heavy & regular use, this lighter weight stainless would prove to be an issue. I use a juicer a handful of times a year to process fruits & vegetables, so for me, lower price and lighter weight were both pluses! All of the parts fit together very well. It's easy to clean after use. My sole concern is that when the silicone tube for the juice finally begins to wear out, get brittle or show other signs of needing to be replaced, that may be a very tricky operation. In the meantime, I am anticipating years of trouble free use from this steam juicer.

The product was very large, and just as expected. It is fairly lightweight metal, but you don't want it too heavy. It's coated with a "ceramic" coating as they describe. However, my package was shipped in a box that did not protect it very well. It had a dent in the bottom edge, and on the lid. I could live with that if the product was uniform metal, however, the ceramic coating chipped off where the damage occurred, exposing steel. That would end up rusting so I had to send it back. It's no fun to deal with that crap. Amazon is incredible handling returns, and they even paid return postage. I was able to print a UPS label and drop it off at my UPS store for return and refund.

The product is nice, large, and would have been great, had it arrived undamaged,

This set has held up well. I've steamed fish, dumplings, little buns, and all sorts of Asian style foods in here and it fits perfectly into a medium sized wok.

Steamed live crabs as well, but a stock pot is far sturdier and the crabs die faster and don't suffer as much.
